4-Port Toslink Audio Splitter
Item no. 1274944
 Intended use
The product distributes one optical digital input to four different outputs. This way, the audio signal of e.g. a
Blu-ray player can be distributed to up to four audio playback devices.
The voltage/power is supplied via the power supply unit included in the delivery.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of companies and

 Safety instructions
The warranty/guarantee will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these operating instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty will be null
and void.
a) General
•  Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not allowed for safety and approval reasons
(CE). Do not disassemble the product.
•  Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an expert.
•  Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around, since it could become a dangerous plaything
for children.
b) Power adapter
•  The design of the power adapter complies with Protection Class II. Use only a standard mains socket as
the power source for the power adapter.
•  The mains socket into which the power adapter is plugged must be easily accessible.
•  Do not pull the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Hold it on the sides of the
casing and pull it out of the mains socket.
•  Do not touch any power adapter that shows signs of damage; there is a danger to life from electric shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the power adapter is connected (switch off at the
corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse or switch off at the corresponding RCD protective
switch, so that all poles of the mains socket are disconnected).
You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty power adapter in an
environmentally friendly way, do not use it any more. Replace it with a power adapter of the same design.
c) Operation
•  The product is not a toy. Devices operated using mains voltage should not be used by children. Therefore,
be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
•  The product is intended for use only in dry, indoor locations. No part of the product should become damp
or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet!
Power adapters pose the potential risk of a fatal electric shock!
•  Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during transport:
  -  Dampness or excessive humidity
  -  Extreme cold or heat, direct sunlight
  -  Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
  -  Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
  -  Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
•  Never use the product immediately after moving it from a cold room into a warm one. The condensation
that forms might damage the product. The power adapter also poses a risk for a potentially fatal electric
shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply and putting it to use.
This may take several hours.
•  When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor pinched.
•  Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows or falls even from a low height.
Version 12/14
 Connection and start-up
•  Choose an appropriate installation site for the splitter. When installing the splitter, protect sensitive furni-
ture surfaces from scratches, stains or dents using a suitable pad.
•  First, switch off all devices you want to connect to the splitter.
•  Connect the optical input (“OPTICAL IN”) of the splitter with your playback device, e.g. a Blu-ray player.
•  You can connect e.g. amplifiers, surround loudspeakers and other devices with optical input to the four
optical outputs (“OPTICAL OUT”).
•  Connect the corresponding round plug of the power adapter to the round low-voltage socket; plug the
power adapter into a standard mains socket.
When a power supply is present, the LED at the top of the splitter is illuminated and signals that the device
is ready for operation.
•  Start the playback device so that an appropriate signal is applied to the splitter’s audio input. Afterwards,
the audio signal is played back at all four outputs.
 Troubleshooting
No sound audible
•  Check the cable/plug connections. Replace damaged cables.
•  Make sure that the optical output of your playback device is selected/activated and delivers the correct
digital audio signal.
•  Set the right input channel and the audio playback device.
 Maintenance and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any reason.
Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an expert.
Before cleaning the product, disconnect it from the power supply, unplug the mains plug from the socket.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, as these can cause discol-
ouration. Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch marks.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
 Disposal
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.

Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance with the current statutory
requirements; e.g. return it to any suitable collection point.
