Unpack the Board
•  Unpack the board. Verify package
contents according to the kit website:
freescale.com/sensortoolbox
.
•  Assemble the hardware by connecting
a development board to the
LFSTBUSB interface board. This
kit comes with one accelerometer
development board that represents
the MMA8491Q accelerometer. The
development board can
be connected to the
LFSTBUSB interface
board. Both of these
board types have a
small arrow to indicate
where to connect (see image above).

Download Latest Software
•  Download the latest version at
freescale.com/sensortoolbox

•  This Sensor Toolbox kit uses the
general Sensor Toolbox communication
driver. The installation only needs to
be done once. Follow the on-screen
instructions to install the communication
driver for the tool.
•  This Sensor Toolbox uses a specific
device driver and is factory programmed
out of the box. It can also be found at
freescale.com
(search for AN4296_SW).
Power Up
•  Plug in the USB and turn the board
on using the power switch, located on
the USB board.
•  Follow AN4296 chapter 5 to run the
HyperTerminal program to interact
with the LFSTBEB8491 kit.
