Spy hole monitor

Intended use
The spy hole monitor is able to better identify visitors arriving at your front door. The product is 
intended for dry indoor use only. Power is supplied via 2 x 1.5 V batteries (type: AA/mignon). Do 
not use any other source of energy. The correct battery type is specifi ed under "Technical Data".
Any use other than the one described above is inadmissible and damages this product. Moreo-
ver, this involves dangers, e.g. short-circuit, fi re etc.
All safety instructions and notes on operation in these operating instructions must be observed 
at all times. These instructions not only protect the device but also and in particular your health. 
Please read through the operating instructions carefully before using the product. Keep them in 
a safe place for future reference.

Safety instructions
General safety instructions
The guarantee/warranty will be void if damage occurs due to failing to com-
ply with the operating instructions! We will not assume any responsibility 
for consequential damage!
Nor do we assume liability for property damage or physical injury caused 
by improper use or failure to observe the safety instructions. In such cases 
the warranty/guarantee is void.
•  For reasons of safety and approval (CE), the device must not be converted and/
or modifi ed without authorisation.
•  If you have any doubts about the correct operation or the safety of the product, 
please consult a specialist.
•  The product is intended for dry indoor use only.
•  Handle  the  product  with  care.  It  can  be  damaged  by  impact,  blows  or  when 
dropped even from a low height.
•  The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children. Particu-
lar care must therefore be exercised if children are around.
•  Do not leave any packaging material unattended. It may become a dangerous 
toy for children.
Information on batteries and rechargeable batteries
•  Please observe the correct polarity (positive/+ and negative/-) when inserting 
the batteries.
•  Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
•  Do not leave any batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around. There is a risk 
of batteries being swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor 
immediately.
•  Leaking  or  damaged  batteries/rechargeable  batteries  may  cause  acid  burns 
if allowed to come into contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves.
•  Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, disman-
tled or thrown into fi re. There is a danger of explosion!
•  Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a danger of explosion! Only charge 
rechargeable batteries intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
•  If you do not intend to use the product for a prolonged period (e.g. storage), re-
move the inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries. Old batteries can leak and 
damage the device. This will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
•  Always  replace  the  whole  set  of  batteries/rechargeable  batteries.  Only  use 
batteries/rechargeable batteries of the same type/manufacturer with the same 
charge  state  (do  not  combine  full  with  semi-charged  or  empty  batteries/re-
chargeable batteries).
•  Never  combine  batteries  and  rechargeable  batteries!  Use  either  batteries  or 
rechargeable batteries.
•  Please read the chapter "Disposal" to ensure that the batteries and recharge-
able batteries are disposed of without damaging the environment.

Assembly
•  Turn the fl ange (7) on the back of the product by 25 degrees to the left (anticlockwise) and 
remove. Undo the clamp screw (2) beforehand if necessary
•  Open the battery compartment (5) on the back of the product.
•  Insert two AA/mignon type batteries into the battery compartment, observing the correct polar-
ity (see stamp in battery compartment)
•  Close the battery compartment again
•  Unscrew the spy hole bushing (6) from the spy hole lens (10)
•  Replace the old spy hole with the new spy hole lens (10) on the outside of the door
 
If there is no spy hole, drill a hole with a 12 mm diameter at eye level. The thickness 
of the door must not exceed 35 to 57 mm.
•  Push  the  spy  hole  bushing  (6)  through  the  fl ange  (7)  and  then  the  spy  hole  bushing  (6) 
through the door hole (8) on the inside of the door
•  Hand-tighten the spy hole bushing (6) with the spy hole lens (10)
 
As soon as the bushing is tight, turn the fl ange (7) until the "TOP" symbol is pointing 
upwards.
•  Now tighten the spy hole bushing (6) using the tightening wrench supplied
•  Turn the spy hole monitor (1) anticlockwise until it is positioned on the fl ange (7) at 25 degrees
•  Now turn the spy hole monitor (1) anticlockwise until you feel it engage
•  Tighten the clamp screw (2) using the screwdriver
