The Intel Legacy Block (iLB) is a collection of disparate functional blocks that are critical 

for implementing the legacy PC-platform features. It also provides support for Non-

Maskable Interrupts (NMI) that are signalled to an open-drain 

 input pin.

The iLB blocks are:

•

 interface with 31 interrupts synchronized 

with the LPC clock

•

 bus host controller and interface

•

 registers and interface pins

•

•

 with PC speaker capability

•

•

 two cascaded devices

•

The control registers for the iLB blocks are briefly described in this chapter. These 

legacy-device blocks are described in other chapters.
