DiskWarrior 4.3 Installation Instructions
You must be running Max OS X version 10.3.9 or later to install DiskWarrior 4.3. Additionally, you must be logged into an
administrator account. Administrator accounts are those that are labeled "Admin" in the Accounts System Preference.
Installing from the DiskWarrior Disc (either CD or DVD):
1) Insert the DiskWarrior disc into your CD/DVD drive.
2)  Drag to the trash any existing copy of DiskWarrior you have installed. You may need to restart in order to empty the trash.
3) Select the DiskWarrior icon (the icon is a drive with a knight's helmet) found in the upper-left corner of the DiskWarrior disc
window and drag it to your hard disk. Alsoft recommends that DiskWarrior reside in the Utilities folder within the Applications
folder.
When installing under Mac OS X 10.4 or earlier, the actual location of the DiskWarrior application is important. Because
DiskWarrior is a sophisticated disk utility, it runs into a limitation of a portion of the Mac OS needed by DiskWarrior but not by
most applications. Due to this limitation, the path (the names of the enclosing folders all the way to the top level of the disk)
cannot contain certain characters. The actual list of allowable and non-allowable characters is too large to list so it's best if the
path contains only the letters A-Z, the digits 0-9, and spaces. For example, /Applications/Utilities/DiskWarrior is a good path
while /Applications/Utilities/DiskWarrior ƒ/DiskWarrior is a bad path because of the "ƒ" character.
4) To run DiskWarrior from your hard disk, simply double-click the DiskWarrior icon. In order to run DiskWarrior, you must be
started from Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.
Installing the DiskWarrior you received via download purchase:
1) Open the 'DiskWarrior.dmg' file you received via download. This will cause the disk image named 'DiskWarrior' to appear on
your desktop.
2)  Drag to the trash any existing copy of DiskWarrior you have installed. You may need to restart in order to empty the trash.
3) Select the DiskWarrior icon (the icon is a drive with a knight's helmet) found in the upper left corner of the disk image window
and drag it to your hard disk. Alsoft recommends that DiskWarrior reside in the Utilities folder within the Applications folder.
