An interactive backup can be performed any time after a backup 
specification has been created and saved. You can use the Data Protector 
GUI or CLI.

To start an interactive backup of an Oracle database using the Data 
Protector GUI, proceed as follows:

1. In the 

HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Manager

, switch to 

the 

Backup

 context.

2. In the Scoping Pane, expand 

Backup

, 

Backup Specifications

, and 

then 

Oracle Server

.

3. Right-click the backup specification and select 

Start Backup

.

In the 

Start Backup

 dialog box, select the 

Backup type
