button to select the CD Layer (or Multi Layer/Stereo 
Layer). Press the PLAY Push-button, after the disc 
tray closes  the MVP891 will read the selected layer 
and the disc starts to play. Refer to figures 30, 32 and 
33.
Note: The next SACD disc played will default to the 
SACD Multichannel layer or the SACD Stereo 
layer if a Multichannel layer is not present on the 
disc.
How to Play a CD Disc
With a disc already loaded into the MVP891, press 
the „ (Play) Push-button on the Front Panel of the 
MVP891 or Remote Control. Refer to figures 30 and 
32.
How to Pause a Disc
This feature allows the temporary stopping of disc 
playback. Refer to figures 30, 32 and 33.
1. When playing a Disc, press the ; (Pause) Push-
button to temporarily stop playback.
Note: After the Pause Feature is activated, with a 
DVD-Video Disc in the MVP891, each ad-
ditional press of the
;
 (Pause) Push-button 
will permit the video to advance one frame at a 
time.
2. Press the „ (Play) Push-button to cancel pause 
and resume playing the disc.
DVD-Video Rapid Frame Advance
The MVP891 allows for rapid scanning of Blu-ray and 
DVD Video Frames both forward or backward direc-
tions at different speeds.
1. When a disc is playing, 
press the; (Pause)

How to Play a BD or DVD Disc
With a disc already loaded into the MVP891, press 
the „ (Play) Push-button on the Front Panel of the 
MVP891 or the Remote Control. Refer to figures 30 
and 32.
Notes: 1. When a Blu-ray, DVD Video or Audio Disc 
is first started, the Disc’s On-Screen Menu 
will usually appear allowing for the choice of 
selections and various Audio/Video Playback 
Parameters.
2. When the MVP891 is connected to a HDTV not 
compatible with Blu-ray 3D Discs, an error 
message will appear On-Screen.
How to Play a SACD Disc
With a disc already loaded into the MVP891, press 
the „ (Play) Push-button on the Front Panel of the 
MVP891 or Remote Control. The Disc will start 
playing the first selection of the SACD Layer; this 
could be either the Multichannel or 2-Channel Tracks 
depending on the disc contents. By pressing the DISC 
LAYER Push-button once, the Front Panel Informa-
tion Display will momentarily display the current 
layer playing.
To change from the Multichannel Layer to the 
SACD 2-Channel while the disc is playing, press the 
DISC LAYER Push-button once to display the cur-
rent layer “MULTI” and then press the DISC LAYER 
Push-button a second time to select the “STEREO” 
Layer.
To change from the Multichannel or Stereo Layer 
to the CD Layer (or back again), first stop the disc 
from playing. Press the OPEN/CLOSE Push-button to 
open the tray and then press the DISC LAYER push-

momentary presses of the

allow for rapid selection of 
the desired previous Tracks/
Chapters.
