GENERAL
Set these switches before using the TC-520.
SWITCH SETTINGS
TONE/PULSE
The TC-520 is shipped with the 
HANDSET
RINGER SWITCH
 (located on the side of the
handset) set to "off". When the ringer is "off", the
POWER SAVER
 is "on" and battery power is
conserved. Turn the handset ringer on before use.

TIME
 after the desired setting is
announced. You will hear two beeps.
The TC-520 will now answer calls using
the programmed setting.
This switch (located on the back of the base
unit) tells the TC-520 to dial out with either
touchtone or pulse signals to match the service
you have with your local telephone company.
The TC-520 is shipped with the 
TONE/
PULSE SWITCH
 in the Pulse position. If you
have touchtone service, set this switch to tone.
PULSE = for Rotary dialing or Pulse systems
TONE = for Touchtone systems
POWER SAVER/
RINGER ON-OFF
When you hear:

  (Tollsaver) = The TC-520 will answer calls
in the tollsaver mode:
Second ring = new messages
Fourth ring = no new messages

The TC-520 is preset to answer on the 4th ring.
The unit may be programmed to answer on the
second or fourth ring, or to answer using the
Tollsaver (2-4) setting.  When calling to check for
messages, tollsaver will help eliminate toll charges
by letting you know if there are any new
messages before the TC-520 answers. If there
are no new messages, you can hang up before
the fourth ring to avoid unnecessary toll charges.

The TC-520 is shipped with the base unit ringer
"ON". To turn the ringer ON or OFF:

A "beep" indicates the base unit ringer is
OFF. A "ring" indicates the ringer is ON.
RINGER ON - When the ringer is ON, the
handset will ring when an incoming call or
paging signal is received. The rechargeable
batteries will last up to seven days in this mode
(the Power Saver Switch is OFF.)
POWER SAVER (PWR SAVER) ON - When
an incoming call is received the handset will not
ring, but all other handset functions will operate.
The rechargeable batteries will last up to 2
months in this mode (the ringer is OFF.)
