Installing the SCSI Cable and Terminator
Notes

Make sure that the interface cable you are planning on using has the appropriate connectors on each end. The FastStor
employs a 68-pin high-density SCSI connector on the rear panel.

If your host computer’s SCSI connector is different from that on the FastStor, you will need to obtain an adapter or a
different cable. Consult your dealer or ATAC if you need help.

The interface cable must be shielded – ADIC can supply you with the correct type.
If your FastStor is the last device on the SCSI bus, install the SCSI terminator onto the remaining SCSI connector on the rear
panel of the FastStor.
Note
SCSI bus TERM POWER is supplied by the robotics interface, not by the drive.
Connect the SCSI cable to either of the SCSI connectors on the rear panel of the FastStor.

Connect the free end of the SCSI cable to the connector on the host computer’s SCSI adapter.
If you wish to connect one or more additional devices to the bus after the FastStor, connect an appropriate cable between the
remaining SCSI connector on the rear panel of the FastStor and the next device.
Be sure that the bus is terminated at the last device in the chain.
Note
ADIC recommends that you always terminate a single-ended SCSI bus

with an active terminator.
Make sure that the SCSI cable between the host adapter and the FastStor is secure and the connections are fastened correctly.
