Please note that as of April 11, 2011 the following Bendix

 ASA-5

 Automatic Slack Adjuster part numbers will be superseded 

by the replacement part numbers for the next generation Bendix

®

 Versajust

™

 Automatic Slack Adjuster. The new replacement 

Versajust part numbers are listed below. Any open orders received prior to April 11th for the ASA-5 part numbers listed below 
will be fi lled over the coming weeks.  Once all open orders received prior to April 11th for the ASA-5 part are complete, the 
corresponding ASA-5 part number will be discontinued.

After April 11th, all new orders placed for the below Bendix automatic slack adjusters, should be placed for the new Versajust 
part numbers listed so that your order can be processed without issue.

The Versajust Part numbers listed will be available for purchase as of April 11th, 2011 from your Bendix service plant.

The new Bendix Versajust Automatic Slack Adjuster parts listed include a clevis with a 1.3" pin to pin dimension. Therefore, if a 
service replacement clevis is needed for maintenance of the Versajust automatic slack adjuster, please order the following newly 
released parts from your Bendix service plant.

**ASA-5 part number includes slack with clevis (clevis has a 1.0" pin to pin dimension)

If a threaded adapter is necessary as well, there is no change from the
current adapter offering with other Bendix automatic slack adjusters.

Finally, please keep in mind the following installation considerations if you are currently using ASA-5's today:
–  The Versajust product (with corresponding clevis) can be installed as a direct replacement for the equivalent ASA-5 part 

number.

–  If replacing an ASA-5 on one side of the axle, it is not necessary to replace the ASA-5 on the other side of the axle. In other 

words – the Versajust and ASA-5 parts are cross compatible across the axle.

–  The Versajust’s 1.3" pin-to-pin clevis dimension provides easy compatibility with industry standard welded and universal 

clevises.

–  All other installation instructions and considerations remain the same as the ASA-5 product. Please reference the installation 

instructions for further information.

–  It is worth noting that all other currently active ASA-5 part numbers not listed 

on this page will continue to remain active and saleable without change.
