Braun «energy cell»
This appliance can be used with either the
short handle for styling on-the-go or the
long handle for use at home. The short
handle accommodates the small energy
cell (a), while the large energy cell (b) fits
into the long handle.
The energy supply must be switched off
(switch (A) to position «0»).
Press the release button (F) and pull off
the handle (G).
Insert a Braun energy cell into the
handle as shown (arrow pointing
upwards). With the energy cell in place,
push the handle onto the appliance until
it snaps into place.
The handle is provided with a butane
level indicator (H) that shows the
amount of fluid remaining in the cell.

Only use Braun energy cells. These are
available from the retailer where this
appliance was purchased, as well as from
authorized Braun Service Centers.

The energy cells can be inserted or
removed at any time, even if they are only
partially filled.
3  Filling the water reservoir
for the steam function
a)  Pull the transparent water reservoir (D)
off the appliance as shown.
b)  Remove the long plug by turning it as
indicated.
c)  Fill the reservoir with water (tap water
only).
d) Replace the plug.
e)  Re-insert the water reservoir until it
snaps into place.
f)  A full water reservoir will last for
approximately 50 steam shots.
4  Switching on
a)  To start the energy supply slide switch
(A) up to position «1». Wait three to
four seconds.
Continue to slide switch (A) further up
to the «start» position until you hear a
click.
The appliance will now start heating
up.
b)  Remove your finger from the switch
and let the switch slide back to
position «1».
c)  The ignition window (C) illuminates to
show that the appliance has ignited
and is heating up. In the unlikely case
that it does not heat up, make sure
that switch (A) is on position «1» and
push it up to «start» again.
d)  After approximately two to three
minutes, the ready indicator dot (B)
turns dark to indicate that the
appliance has heated up and is ready
for use.
5 Steaming
To add steam to a section of hair, press
down the rubber top of the water reservoir
for approximately two to three seconds
(you will feel a click). Steam will be
released from the openings in the tong,
giving the hair just the required amount of
natural moisture for gentler styling and
longer-lasting results.
After use
Switch off the appliance by sliding switch
(A) back to position «0».
After use, always empty the water
reservoir (D). Otherwise drops of water
may get into the appliance and affect the
heat-up process. After the water has
dried out the appliance will work normally
again.
Cleaning
Make sure the appliance is switched off
and cooled down. Never immerse the
appliance in water.
The tong and the handle can be cleaned
with a soft damp cloth only.
The styling brush and the protective cover
can be cleaned in warm, soapy water.
Storage
After use or cleaning, always place the
heat-resistant protective cover (I) on the
appliance to ensure that the appliance is
not switched on unintentionally.
Subject to change without notice.
