friction lift-off in corrosive
environments
Outstanding stopping
power, long-wearing and
quiet-running designs to
meet all the demanding
requirements
Rotor and Pad Wear
The rotor wear and pad loss tests measure the difference
in pad/rotor thickness from the beginning to the end of
the dynamometer evaluation. Rotor thickness and pad
loss were measured in inches, and the best performers
had the lower measurements in each test.
The Formula Blue
®
 medium-duty premium pads proved
out their advanced engineering by delivering an
optimized balance of friction couple wear. By optimizing
pad and rotor wear, Formula Blue
®
 pads are able to
deliver the delicate balance of stopping performance and
brake life to lower the operating cost in the widest variety
of hydraulic brake applications. Formula Blue
®
 pads
provide the winning combination of pad and rotor wear
in independent lab tests, on the job and in your fl eet.

Consistent braking performance plus optimized Pad
and Rotor wear equals safety, less down time, and
reduced fl eet operating cost – now that’s the Formula;

 disc pads.
Braking Effectiveness
Brake pad effectiveness was determined by measuring
the ratio between the pad-to-rotor output torque and
the pressure applied to the brake pedal. The brake
effectiveness ratio is summarized as an average and a
range of three dynamometer effectiveness test segments.
For hydraulic disc brake pads, effectiveness should be a
value between 0 and 1 (the higher the better), with the
typical range being between 0.25 and 0.35. The ideal
range score is zero.
Formula Blue
®
pads were in the group of four out of fi ve
pads tested that achieved optimal effectiveness while
providing the most consistent performance as evidenced
by the lowest test range. Fleets need brake pads that
they can count on stop after stop, Formula Blue
®
 pads
deliver this peace of mind allowing you to focus on your
deliveries.
