Precautions when using the USB ter-
minal
When connecting the USB terminal to the com-
puter, make sure to observe the following points.
Failing to do so risks freezing the computer and
corrupting or losing the data. If the computer or
the unit freezes, restart the application software or
Windows OS, or turn the power to the unit off then
on again.
CAUTION
• Before connecting the USB terminal to the com-
puter, exit from any power-saving mode of the
computer (such as suspended, sleep, standby).
• Execute the following before turning the power to
the unit on/off or plugging/unplugging the USB
terminal.
· Make sure that no read or write operations are
in progress.
· Safely remove the unit from the Windows task-
bar after closing all windows that accessed the
unit.
• While the unit is connected to the computer, you
should wait for six seconds or more between
these operations: (1) when turning the power of
the unit off then on again, or (2) when alter-
nately plugging/unplugging the USB terminal.
Note:
· When you connect the recorder to the computer for
the first time, some computers may not immedi-
ately recognize the unit as a Removable Disk. In
this case, disconnect the unit and reconnect it
again.
· While the unit is connected to the computer, the
unit will operate without consuming battery power.
