T
he DP-G301 single-port wireless G print server provides a parallel printer port for
connection to a parallel printer. Equipped with a 10/100BASE-TX Ethernet and 802.11g
wireless LAN interface, this device lets you conveniently share your printer with a group of
home or office users, with or without the network wires. Supporting multiple network
operating systems, this print server brings a high level of flexibility and performance to your
printing needs.
Flexible Installation. The DP-G301 wireless G print server is ideal for both the large office
and the small workgroup. For homes and SOHO with just one printer to share, this print
server offers a single port and saves you the cost. For the large office with many computer
users and several printers scattered at different places, you can plug one print server to each
of these printers to share them on the network.
Ethernet and Wireless Interfaces. Two LAN interfaces are provided on this print server: (1) a
10/100BASE-TX Ethernet port and (2) a high-speed 802.11g wireless LAN interface
supporting up to 54Mbps network data transfer. The wireless LAN interface allows you to put
your printer anywhere in the room without cable restrictions, while users can send files
wirelessly to the printer for printing.
Wireless Network Security. The DP-G301 wireless G print server provides the necessary
security for wireless users, using the user-selectable 64/128-bit industry-standard WEP
(Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption protocol. Data privacy mechanism is based on a
shared key algorithm, as described in the wireless LAN standard.
Multiple Network OS Support. The DP-G301 supports many network OS, including Windows,
Apple MacOS, Linux, Solaris, SCO Unix and NetWare 5.x native NDS. This gives you the
flexibility to install the print server, regardless of your network environment.
Easy Setup. Setting up the print server is easy with a Windows-based menu-driven program,
which guides you through all the necessary steps to set up and configure your network
printer. SNMP and latest MIB-II MIBs are built into the print server, allowing you to manage
this device on any SNMP standard-based network.
