HP StorageWorks High Availability Fabric Manager Appliance (HAFM Appliance) is a comprehensive storage network management
application that enables you to configure and manage your M-Series switches (i.e., Director and Edge Switch products). With its
powerful configuration tools, you can control numerous M-Series directors and switches from a single console, simplifying the
administration of your storage network infrastructure. HAFM maximizes the ability of your storage network and minimizes potential
SAN downtime. With its real-time monitoring and notification capabilities, you can stay on top of critical events that could impact
your storage network infrastructure. Proactive alerts like call home and e-mail notification keep you aware of the operational status
or your SAN anytime and anywhere.
With version 8.02 of HAFM and later, there will be three complimentary software modules offered. They are Performance
Monitoring, Event Management and SAN Planning. HAFM V7.02 was the first version of HAFM that requires an appliance/1U
server. It is not supported on the laptop servers supported under earlier versions of HAFM.

HAFM can be purchased in 2 ways:
1. For first-time customers, HAFM should be purchased with the appliance server (HAFM Appliance).
2. For existing customers, an HAFM upgrade kit may be purchased (requires the previous purchase of the HAFM Appliance).
