Getting to Know Your Dishwasher 
Before You Start, Become Familiar with Your Dishwasher 
IMPORTANT:  See page 14 for complete instructions on how to use your dishwasher. 
Parts of Your Dishwasher 
  Control Panel: 
Located on top of the door. The buttons control your dishwasher. The 
lights show the status of the dishwashing cycle. 
  Detergent Dispenser: 
Automatically releases the soap during the wash part of the cycle (see 
page 14). 
  Dishwashing Compartment:  
The compartment where tableware and cookware are loaded for 
washing.  
  Door Switch
Located in the door. Automatically pauses dishwashing when the door is 
opened. 
  External Indicator Lights
Standard on ED models. An optional feature on ID models. The lights 
show the status of the dishwashing cycle and things that may require 
your attention (see page 20). 
  Filter System
Traps food and debris that could damage or plug up the mechanical 
parts of your dishwasher. See page 22 for cleaning instructions. 
  Racks: 
The racks are coated with a durable coating that protects the finish of 
tableware and cookware. They each have 2 rows of adjustable tines that 
allow you to make room for large items in the center of the rack (see 
page 13). 
  Rinse Aid Dispenser:  
Automatically releases rinse aid during the rinse part of the cycle. Rinse 
aid is a fluid that helps the dishes dry properly and helps prevent water 
spots. The amount of rinse aid dispensed is adjustable (see page 15). 
  Silverware Basket:  
Use the silverware basket to hold silverware and kitchen utensils. It has 
2 compartments that snap closed to hold small items (see page 11). 
  Spray Arms
The spray arms spray water on the dishes at high pressure to remove 
soil. 
  Toe Kick Panel
Covers the internal mechanics of the dishwasher located below the door. 
It must always be in place during operation.
