The WorkCentre 5600 series includes the Xerox Extensible Interface Platform (EIP), which enables

third-party software vendors to develop customized applications for Xerox MFPs. EIP enables

customer user interfaces to display on the MFP front panel, and to integrate with broader network

applications like enterprise content management (ECM) systems and accounting solutions.

For example, authenticated users can:

• Browse a list of documents in your ECM system and select one (or more) to print

 

• Select a personal folder in that same ECM system and scan a hard-copy document for storage

• Receive their own personalized lists of locations for retrieving or scanning documents, based

on their user information

EIP also enables custom card-based authentication solutions that control

access to MFP features and integration with network applications. Two

examples of card-based EIP applications:

• Xerox Secure Access Unified ID System

— enables user login

with existing magnetic or proximity ID cards, providing quick

and secure access to device functions that need to be tracked for

accounting or regulatory requirements

• Follow-You

Printing — decreases downtime and document

security by submitting print jobs to a secure print queue for print-

ing to any available networked device after user authentication

(traditional or card-based login)
