Stand-Alone Operating Mode (J8)
The MCPN750A has a stand-alone operating mode that allows the
MCPN750A to function without the clock from the system slot controller
board. Installing a jumper across pins 1 and 2 of J8 enables the stand-alone
mode. The J8 jumper must be removed for normal operation.

Note
An MCPN750A configured for stand-alone mode should not be
installed in a chassis with a system slot controller board. This will
