Follow the instructions below if an error message appears in the display.

ACCESS
AVLS (blinks)
CANNOT PLAY

Meaning
Accessing the built-in flash
memory.
The volume level exceeds the rated
value while the AVLS is enabled.
• Your Network Walkman cannot
play certain files because of
incompatible formats.
• Transferring has been interrupted
forcefully.
The power supply is abnormal.
The track is playback restricted by
the copyright holder.
• The file cannot be read.
• The file is not normal.
The built-in flash memory was
formatted on a computer.
Your Network Walkman cannot be
operated because the Slide Cover is
set to the “HOLD” position.
The battery is low.
A malfunction is detected in the
built-in flash memory.
Remedy
Please wait for access to complete. This
message appears while the built-in flash
memory is initiating.
Turn the volume down or disable the
AVLS (page 33).
If the file cannot be played, you can erase
it from the built-in flash memory.

(page 57).
Try using another computer.
If track cannot be played, you can erase it
from the built-in flash memory.

Transfer the normal audio file back to the
computer and then format your Network
