IP Phone Administrator Guide
Transport Protocol
sip transport protocol
The protocol that the Real-Time Transport
Protocol (RTP) port on the IP phone uses to
send out SIP signaling packets.
Notes:
1.
If you set the value of this parameter to 4
(TLS), the phone checks to see if the “sips
persistent tls
” is enabled. If it is enabled, the
phone uses Persistent TLS on the connection.
If “sips persistent tls” is disabled, then the
phone uses TLS on the connection. If TLS is
used, you must specify the Root and
Intermediate Certificates, the Local Certificate,
the Private Key, and the Trusted Certificates.
2.
If the phone uses Persistent TLS, you
MUST specify the Trusted Certificates; the
Root and Intermediate Certificates, the Local
Certificate, and the Private Key are optional.
For more information, see Chapter 4,
 on
.
Local SIP UDP/TCP Port
sip local port
Specifies the local source port (UDP/TCP)
from which the phone sends SIP messages.
Notes:
1. It is recommended that you avoid the
conflict RTP port range in case of a UDP
transport.
2. By default, the IP phones use symmetric
UDP signaling for outgoing UDP SIP
messages. When symmetric UDP is enabled,
the IP phone generates and listens for UDP
messages using port 5060.If symmetric UDP
signaling is disabled, the phone sends from
random ports but it listens on the configured
SIP local port.
