Support for Additional Codec Types and Codec Priority Selection
Release 2.4.1 includes support for additional code types. Previously, using the Aastra Web UI or
the configuration files, an Administrator could enable or disable basic codecs for the phones
(G.711 u-law, G.711 a-law, and G.729), customize a codec preference list, and enable or disable
silence suppression.
Now using the Aastra Web UI or the configuration files, an Administrator can select from up to
14 codecs for the phones AND customize a codec preference list of up to 10 codecs. Silence
suppression can still be enable or disabled as required.
Configuring Customized Codecs Using the Configuration Files
Using the configuration files, you can enter the following parameters to configure the codecs for
the phones and customize a codec preference list.
