Group the screws with the corresponding components during the disassembly process to avoid mismatch when putting back the components.3 Observe the order of the disassembly steps to prevent damaging any of the hardware components.3 Some of the procedures in this guide involve removing tape that holds cables or components. If the existing tape cannot be reused, replace it with the same type (conductivity) of tape. Do not use cellophane tape!3Reassembly3Required Tools3 Wrist grounding strap and conductive mat for preventing electrostatic discharge.3 Small Phillips screwdriver.3 Small flat screwdriver.3 Scribe or non-marring tool.3Hazardous Voltage4Avoid Electrostatic Discharge4Power Supply Unit4Power Supply Unit4Power Supply Unit4Power Supply Unit4WARNING4AVERTISSEMENT4WARNUNG4ADVERTENCIA4WAARSCHUWING4AVVERTENZA4Battery5Note: Use an anti-static mat or something soft like a piece of cloth underneath the notebook to prevent damage to the exterior of the notebook.5Fig. 1 Releasing the battery.5Fig. 2 Removing the battery.5Memory5Fig. 3 Location of the CPU bay cover screws.5Fig. 4 Opening the CPU bay cover.6Fig. 5 Releasing the installed memory module.6Fig. 6 Removing the memory module.6CPU Heat Sink6Fig. 7 Location of the CPU heat sink screws.7Note: Screws 1 to 4 are captive and you cannot remove them. When tightening the heat sink screws into the numbered holes during re-assembly, tighten them in numerical order.7Fig. 8 Removing the CPU heat sink.7Note: Before re-assembling the heat sink, remove any thermal grease residue from the CPU using a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Apply new thermal grease on the CPU; use only enough to cover the CPU die.7CPU7Fig. 9 Releasing the CPU screw.8Fig. 10 Removing the CPU.8Wireless LAN Adapter8Fig. 11 Disconnecting the wireless LAN antenna cables.9Note: There are two WiFi antenna cables connected to the wireless LAN adapter.
