Department of Communications—
Government of Canada Notice
The Canadian Department of Communications label identifies
certified equipment.  This certification means that the equipment
meets certain telecommunications network protective,
operational and safety requirements.  The Department does
not guarantee that the equipment will operate to the user’s
satisfaction. Users should ensure, for their own protection, that
the electrical ground connections of the power utility, telephone
lines and internal metallic water pipe system, if present, are joined
together.  These precautions may be particularly important in
rural areas.  The manufacturer requires that you connect your
Communicator to the nationwide telephone network through
a modular telephone jack (USOC RJ11C, RJ11W or RJ14).  This
equipment may not be used with coin telephone lines or party
lines. Contact the local public utility commission, public service
commission or corporation commission for information.
Notification for the Telephone Company
Upon request of your local telephone company, you are required
to provide them with the following information:
1.
The “Line” to which you will connect your Communicator
(that is, your phone number); and
2.
The Communicator’s FCC Registration Number and
Ringer Equivalence Number (REN).  Those numbers are
on the bottom of your Communicator.  The REN is used
to determine how many devices may be connected to a
telephone line.
