Shooting Issues
Date not imprinted on 
images even when Print 
date
 is enabled.
The date cannot be imprinted on movies and images 
captured using Take a series of pictures.
Screen for setting time and 
date is displayed when 
camera is turned on.
Clock battery is exhausted; all settings were restored 
to their default values.
Camera settings reset.
Monitor turns off, and the 
power-on lamp flashes 
quickly.
Battery temperature is high. Turn off camera and 
allow battery to cool down before resuming use. After 
the lamp flashes for three minutes, the camera will 
turn off automatically. Pressing the power switch also 
turns off the camera.
Camera becomes hot.
The camera may become hot when recording movies 
for an extended period of time, or when the camera is 
used in a hot area; this is not a malfunction.

Cannot switch to shooting 
mode.
Disconnect USB cable.
No image captured when 
the shutter-release button is 
pressed.
• When camera is in playback mode, press the 
c (shooting/playback mode) button, the shutter-
release button, or the 
b (e movie-record) button.
• When menus are displayed, press the 
c (shooting/playback mode) button, shutter-
release button, or 
b (e movie-record) button.
• Battery is exhausted.
• When flash lamp flashes, flash is charging.
