• Be sure to read and follow the warnings of “For Your Safety” (

Avi) thoroughly before using the 

Charging AC Adapter. 

• Be sure to read thoroughly and follow the warnings for “Charging AC Adapter” (

F4) before use.

• You can also charge the COOLPIX S9500/S9400 Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL12 by 

connecting the camera to a computer (

• The EN-EL12 can be charged without using the camera by using the Battery Charger MH-65 

(available separately;

If you press the power switch while using the Charging AC Adapter to charge the battery in the 
camera, the camera turns on in playback mode, and you can play back images. Shooting is not 
possible.

• You can take pictures and play back images while using the AC Adapter EH-62F (available 

separately; 

E99) to power the camera from an electrical outlet.

• Do not, under any circumstances, use another make or model of AC adapter other than the EH-62F. 

Failure to observe this precaution could result in overheating or damage to the camera.

Status

Description

Flashes slowly (green)

The battery is charging.

Off

The battery is not charging. When charging is complete, the 
charge lamp flashing slowly in green stops and is turned off.

Flashes quickly (green)

• The ambient temperature is not suited to charging. Charge the 

battery indoors with an ambient temperature of 5°C to 35°C 
(41°F to 95°F).

• The USB cable or Charging AC Adapter is not properly 

connected, or there is a problem with the battery. Disconnect 
the USB cable or unplug the Charging AC Adapter and correctly 
connect it again, or change the battery.
