The Polycom Video Border Proxy (VBP™) 200 EW network appliance allows you to conduct business-quality

video calls from your small or home office by resolving the challenges caused by firewalls and bandwidth 

limitations.  You and your users can feel confident participating in business meetings over existing 

Internet connections.

With advanced QoS (Quality of Service) and packet shaping technologies, Polycom’s VBP 200 EW 

network appliance delivers your audio and video smoothly and seamlessly to the other participant.  

The VBP 200 EW model also includes 802.11 (b & g) wireless connectivity to other network devices 

such as PCs, media servers and others.

To ensure absolute network security, the VBP 200 EW appliance employs a packet inspection firewall,

which determines when to open or close ports for video and voice endpoints.  For maximum video and

voice call quality, the VBP 200 EW appliance also forwards video traffic via the shortest possible path

effectively minimizing jitter, delay, and packet loss. 

Unused video or voice bandwidth unused is made available to other devices on your network, enabling 

data traffic to burst to the full capacity of your Internet connectivity.  Traffic management capabilities such 

prioritization, traffic shaping and call entry control further enhance video and voice quality.
