grammed by using the <layer>:COUNt

command.

The trigger command has the same func-

tion as the Group Execute Trigger com-

mand GET, defined by IEEE 488.1.
When to use *TRG and GET
The *TRG and the GET commands have

the same effect on the instrument. If the

Counter is in idle, i.e., not parsing or exe-

cuting any commands, GET will execute

much (≈ 20 µs) faster than *TRG

(≈ 4 ms) since the instrument must al-

ways parse *TRG.
