HP on standby 24x7
Before installing the Superdome servers, the IT staff
requested that HP Labs verify that the high-availability
and disaster tolerant solutions worked properly. HP
personnel tested the Storage Management Suite,
Cluster File System configuration, and application
packages fully and provided their recommendations.
“HP was involved right from the beginning in the
planning, implementation and support. The migration
was completed in phases and everything was well
prepared in advance,” says Nair.
To ensure all goes well for the IT and business overall,
Dubai World contracts for Mission Critical Partnership
(MCP) Services to obtain active HP support day
and night. The services are proving valuable, as
Kalayan attests: “The hardware fixes are vital and
the service contract gets consultants involved on
demand to resolve issues, if we need to do so. We
also appreciate the fine work we’ve received from our
HP MCP account manager and engineer related to
patch assessment, review and release, which helped
us proceed with confidence with the implementation.
Their proactive hardware assessments help us address
audit and security concerns and apply best practices
that improve service continuity.”
