Setting a Static IP Address
To set a static IP address:
1.
Select Use the following IP address.
2.
In the IP address field type the IP address of the computer, for example 192.168.2.x.
Note
: The x in the address stands for numbers 101 and up.

In the Subnet mask field, type the number of the subnet mask, for example: 255.255.255.0
4.
In the Default Gateway field, type the default gateway, for example, 192.168.2.1
Note:
The computer settings must be in the same subnet range as the router.
The factory default settings for the router are:
IP Address: 192.168.2.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
5.
Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
a. Enter the IP Address for the Preferred DNS Server. Example: 205.171.3.65
b. Click OK.
6.
To close the Local Area Properties window, click OK.
7.
Close the Control Panel.
8.
Repeat these steps for each computer on your network.
