When the USB interface is used to connect to the host computer, the parallel interface
and the serial interface (factory add-on option) cannot be connected simultaneously.

Connecting the Interface Cable
To connect the interface cable:
1.
Turn off both the printer and the computer.
2.
Pull the shutter on the left side of the printer upward as far as it will go.
