INSTALLING THE SYMPHONY CABINET LCR cont.
PN. 33-2919
REV. 03-2003
The Symphony Cabinet LCR should be located from 24" to 60" from
the floor whether the speaker is situated vertically or horizontally. The
ideal height would be to have the tweeters at ear level when you are
seated.
The left and right speakers should be separated approximately 72" to
120" apart center to center.
The listening position should be from 84" to 168" away from the three
front speakers.
After you have your three front speakers located use the calibration
signal in your surround sound receiver to set the levels of all the
speakers in your home theater. A sound pressure level meter is
strongly recommended to accurately set these levels. Refer to the
manual of your receiver for the steps necessary to perform this
calibration.

INSTALLING THE SYMPHONY CABINET LCR
Install the four self adhesive rubber feet on the bottom the Symphony
Cabinet LCR.
If you are going to place the Symphony Cabinet LCR vertically in your
installation locate the four feet as shown in figure A below. The feet
should be placed approximately 1" in from the corners of the cabinet.
If you are going to place the Symphony Cabinet LCR horizontally in
your installation locate the four feet as shown in figure B below. The
feet should be placed approximately 1" in from the corners of the
cabinet.
Step 1
Run the appropriate gauge wire from your amplifier to the Symphony
Cabinet LCR location. See the wire gauge chart on the back of this
manual for suggested wire length versus wire gauge.
Attach the wire from your amplifier to the terminals on the back of the
speaker, see figure C. Double check the polarity of the speaker wires,
amplifier + to  speaker + and amplifier - to speaker -. Proper polarity
is critical in home theater installations.
Step 2
Figure E
Located on the terminal cup of the Symphony Cabinet LCR are two
toggle switches.
The toggle switch on the left side of the terminal cup is a tweeter level
control. Normally this control should be left in the "flat" position. The
flat position will produce excellent sound in most rooms. If you find the
sound of the Symphony Cabinet LCR too bright in your room set the
level control to the "- 3 dB" setting. If the sound in your room is too
dull the control should be set to the "+3 dB" setting.
The toggle switch on the right side of the terminal cup is a woofer
boundary compensation switch. If you locate the Symphony Cabinet
LCR on top of a television or in a book case the low frequency output
from the woofers will increase. This bass boost can increase the output
as much as 6 dB will normally occur from approximately 200 Hz down
to 65 Hz. Flip the boundary compensation switch to the "On" position
to reduce the low frequency output.
