Recognize and Alternates are for use in Writing mode.  For more details on writing recognition see “Writing on 

the Screen” on page 31. 

Beam Document and Send via E-mail will attempt to beam the document to nearby PiNs and creates a 

new outgoing e-mail message with this document attached, respectively. 

Revert to saved will remove all changes since the last time the document was saved and restore the last 

good copy.  

Save Document As will allow you give a new name to the document, change its folder, change its type 

(supported types include Pocket Word, Rich Text, Plain Text, Word 97/2000, Word 6.0/95, Word 97/2000 

Template).  You can also opt to save the document to a storage card. 

Delete document allows you to remove the document from memory. 

 
Pocket Excel 

Using Pocket Excel, you can create new workbooks on your PiN, copy workbooks from your computer to 

your PiN, or synchronize workbooks between your computer and your PiN so that you have the most up-to-
date content in both locations. 

To create a new workbook, tap 

 Æ Programs Æ Pocket Æ Excel Æ New. A blank workbook appears 

unless you have set a template for new workbooks in the Options dialog box. If that is the case, then that 

template appears with appropriate text and formatting already provided. You can open only one workbook at 
a time; when you open a second workbook, you will be asked to save the first.  

 

 

The document list view in Pocket Excel parallels that of Pocket Word. 

File and Folder Management 

The introductory screen to Pocket Excel provides a comprehensive list of all viewable workbooks on your PiN 

and allows you to perform file management tasks on those workbooks.
