Remote Module Configuration
Setting Call Timeout
Call Timeout sets the length of time the phone must be inactive before the modules will terminate the ISDN
connection and go into COD mode.

From the Go Online menu, press NEXT until the Set COD Parameters menu appears.

Press OK to advance to the Set COD Mode menu.

Press NEXT until you advance to the Set Call Timeout menu.

Press OK.

Enter the time amount from 10 to 300 seconds. (15 is a common selection.)
6.
Press Drop/Redial to accept the number and return to the Set Call Timeout menu.
Setting Connect Timeout
Connect Timeout sets the minimum amount of time before a connection between the modules will terminate
by going into COD. This timer is best used if there is a minimum charge for ISDN usage, including long dis-
tance. For example, if you are billed by the minute for even using a portion of a minute, the timer should be
set for 60 seconds. If you are billed by the seconds used, set the Connect Timeout timer to equal the Call
Timeout.

Setting the Data Monitor
Setting the Data Monitor is only for systems using Serial Data (Data Type is set to Serial). With the Data
Monitor feature enabled, while the modules are in COD disconnected mode, and there is serial data to be
sent across the modules, the connection will be re-established. Please see Data Communication-Serial Data
section for details.
