Remote Module Configuration
Setting the Remote COM Port
The COM port is used to communicate with the user interface (ETI or TTI). When it is not used with the ETI
or TTI, the COM port can be used for data communication when the data type is Serial or Dial-up. When the
data type is Ethernet, you can use the COM port to access the Ethernet Management Console.

For the Serial data type, the Remote Module takes data received on the COM port and multiplexes it over the

Note: All COM port configurations should be set at the same time.

From the Go Online menu, press NEXT until the Set Remote COM Port menu appears.

Press OK to advance to the Data Rate menu.
Setting the Data Rate
The current data rate is displayed.

Use PRV and NEXT to move through the options. The options are: 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, 38.4, 57.6 and
115.2 kbps. The default rate is 38.4 kbps.

Press OK to select the displayed rate and advance to the Data Bits menu.
Setting the Data Bits
The current Data Bits setting is displayed.

Use PRV and NEXT to move through the options. The options are 7 and 8. The default is 8 bits.

Press OK to select the displayed rate and advance to the Parity menu.

The current Parity setting is displayed.

Use PRV and NEXT to move through the options. The options are None, Even, and Odd. The default
is None (No Parity).

Setting the Stop Bits
The current Stop Bits setting is displayed.

Use PRV and NEXT to move through the options. The options are 1 and 2. The default is 1.
