Setting Miscellaneous Parameters
The Miscellaneous Parameters include setting the Feature Code, the Data Type, and the User ID. The Set
Misc. Parameters menu allows you to access the following sub-menus:

Future releases will contain new features that will enhance your system’s capabilities. The Feature Code is
an 8 to 10 digit number that will activate these selected features specific to your system.

Setting the Data Type
This menu enables you to select the type of data that will be transferred between the Office and Remote
Modules.

There are three Data Types available: Serial, Dial-up, and Ethernet. The default Data Type is Dial-up.

channel to act as an ISDN Terminal Adapter (TA). This mode only supports PPP connections between the

Serial– Multiplexes data received on the extender’s serial port in with the PBX voice traffic across the first
B channel. This is useful for older terminal server applications or other low-volume serial data situations.

From the Go Online menu, press NEXT until the Set Misc. Parameters menu appears

Press NEXT until the Set Data Type menu appears.

Press OK. The phone will display type of data you are currently using.
4.
Press NEXT to advance through the options. The options are: Serial, Dial-up, and Ethernet.
5.
Press OK to accept the displayed selection and return to the Set Data Type menu.
Note: After you change the data type, you must restart the Remote Module for the changes to take effect.
