Physical Installation
Remote (left side of Figure 2 – previous page):
1. Place the unit in the destination location. The Remote can either be wall
mounted or placed on any desktop.
2. Connect the supplied RJ-45 to DB-9 console cable between the console port
(labeled COMM) and the PC’s serial (COM) port.
3. Prepare to connect the supplied RJ-45 to RJ-11 cable between port 1 on the
rear of the Remote and a supported telephone set. Do NOT connect the
telephones until the setup wizard has been run.

4. Prepare to connect the supplied RJ-45 to RJ-11 cable between port 2 on the
rear of the Remote and a supported telephone set (Dual port Remote only).

If the PBX type has not been selected by running the Setup Wizard this can

5. Connect the LAN port to the LAN with an RJ-45 Ethernet cable.
Do not apply power to the unit until instructed to do so. An improperly

Removal
Refer to the instructions below when moving or removing the Remote:
1. Power down the unit
2. Disconnect the RJ-45 from the LAN port
3. Disconnect the RJ-45 to RJ-11 cable between port 1 on the Remote and the
telephone
4. Disconnect the RJ-45 to RJ-11 cable between port 2 on the Remote and the
telephone
5. Disconnect the RJ-45 to DB-9 console cable between the console port and
the PC’s serial (COM) port
6. Remove the unit from the desktop or wall (if wall mounted)
