•The DIGITAL SP-PHONE indicator lights.
•A free line is automatically selected and the line
indicator lights. (To change the line selection,
see page 80.)

Dial a phone number.
•After a few seconds, the display will show the
length of the call.

When the other party answers, talk into the
MIC (microphone).

To hang up, press 
(DIGITAL!SP-PHONE)

•The indicator lights go out.
•In step 1, you can select a line by pressing a line button whose indicator does not
light, instead of pressing (DIGITAL!SP-PHONE).
•To switch to the handset while using the base unit speakerphone:
– If the handset is off the base unit, press the left soft key (
) or the middle soft
key (
) for the line, then press (DIGITAL!SP-PHONE) on the base unit.
– If on the base unit, just lift up.
•The line indicators show the line status (p. 38).
•To use the Privacy feature and (MUTE) feature, see pages 71 and 76.

For best performance, please note the following:
•Talk alternately with the caller in a quiet room.
•If the other party has difficulty hearing you, press Ö to decrease the speaker volume.
•If the other party’s voice from the speaker cuts in/out during a conversation,
press Ö to decrease the speaker volume.
