Restart the switch to refresh its statistics and apply 
any new IP, SLIP and default router information.

Initialize the switch to return it to its factory 
default settings (IP, SLIP and default router 
information is retained).

Each OfficeConnect managed product (including the 
OfficeConnect Switch 140M) is a separate 
manageable entity, which means that you manage 
each unit individually.

The switch has management built into it. There is:

A web interface

■

A Command Line Interface (CLI)

Alternatively, you can manage your switch alongside 
all the other managed units in your network, using an 
SNMP (IP/IPX-based) network management 
application, refer to 

The switch’s web interface provides easy 
management of the switch. It behaves in a similar 
way to a web site on the World Wide Web in that 
you access it using a web browser. You use its 
different pages to change the network information in 
your switch and perform different management tasks.

The switch’s Command Line Interface (CLI) is a simple 
text-based user interface which allows you to 
configure some network information for your switch. 
The CLI provides just a subset of the web interface’s 
functionality but is intended as a quick setup tool, to 
get your switch ready for management over the 
network. You can use a Terminal or Terminal emulator 
to access the CLI using a direct connection or across 
the network, using Telnet (with IP configured).
