Figure 137   The route reflector diagram
The reflector is the router that performs the route reflection function. The route
reflector regards the IBGP peers as client and non-client. A route reflector and its
clients constitute a cluster. In an AS, all other peers not belonging to the cluster
are non clients. The specification of a route reflector and the joining of a client are
implemented via the
peer reflect-client
 command.
The non-client peer and the route reflector, as well as one non-client peer and the
other non-client peer, forms a fully connected network because they follow the
basic principles of IBGP fully connected network. A client should not create peer
relationship with IBGP outside its corresponding cluster. The route reflection
function is only completed on route reflector, and all client peers and non-client
peers are routine BGP peers. The client peers are client peers just because the
route reflector lists them as client peers.
Configuring route reflection between clients
Perform the following configurations in BGP view.
By default, disable route reflection between clients.
Configuring route reflector
Generally speaking, there is a route reflector in a cluster, whose ID identifies the
cluster.
Perform the following configurations in BGP view.
