Active D-Lighting
The Brightness and Contrast Picture Control settings (pg. 111) can not be adjusted while
active D-Lighting is in effect. In exposure mode M, an Active D-Lighting setting of Auto is

ADL Bracketing
When ADL bracketing is selected for Custom Setting e4 (Auto bracketing set, pg. 191), the
camera will automatically vary Active D-Lighting over two photographs: the first will be taken
with Active D-Lighting off, the second with the current setting for Active-D-Lighting. See page
