Introduction
This document describes how-to configure or modify the Network Time Protocol (NTP) server
settings on the Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA), Web Security Appliance (WSA), Security
Management Appliance (SMA).
How to add or modify NTP on ESA/WSA/SMA
The NTP server settings can be configured or modified via the CLI or the GUI. Please see the
detailed instructions below.
CLI
ntpconfig
Currently configured NTP servers:
No servers currently configured.
Choose the operation you want to perform:
- NEW - Add a server.
- SOURCEINT - Set the interface from whose IP address NTP queries should originate.
[]> new
Please enter the fully qualified hostname or IP address of your NTP server.
[]> 172.18.108.15
You can add multiple NTP servers.
If a server had already been configured, use delete to remove any servers that are not needed.
Note: Be sure to commit any and all changes made to the configuration via the CLI.
GUI
From the browser navigate through the following:
1. Navigate to the System Administration > Time Settings page.
2. Click Edit Settings.
3. In the Time Keeping Method section, select Use Network Time Protocol.
