announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco ONS 15454 MSPP
12-Port EC1 Card. The last day to order the Cisco ONS 15454 MSPP 12-Port EC1 Card
is October 30, 2007. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive
support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the
EOL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the
Cisco ONS 15454 MSPP 12-Port EC1 Card. Table 2 lists the product part numbers
affected by this announcement.
The replacement is the Cisco ONS 15454 SONET 48-Port DS-3/EC-1 Interface Card, which
provides a cost-effective, high-density DS-3/EC-1 interface solution for hand-offs and aggregation
of large numbers of DS-3 and EC-1 circuits between networks. The card's high-density design
frees up shelf-assembly slots for additional service-interface types. The replacement card is equal
in performance and is 60 percent less expensive on a per-port basis.
