The MeetingPlace 8106 server has three types of LEDs, as described in the 
following table.

Major Alarm

Appears red when a serious problem exists with 
your MeetingPlace system. This kind of condition 
usually interrupts system operation.

Critical Alarm

Disregard. Currently not in use.

Hot Swap Controller (HSC) 
power light

Appears green when there is power to the card, 
which also means that there is power to the system.

Fan assembly

• none

• red

• Fan assembly is working properly or is not properly 

inserted

• Fan assembly is not working properly

Power supply 
units

• green on both

• red on both

• none on both

• green on one; red 

on other

• green on one; none 

on other

• red on one; none on 

other

• Power supply units are working properly

• Neither power supply unit is working properly. Shut off 

the server as soon as possible and remove all cards, the 
floppy drive and CD-ROM drive housing unit, and the 
disk drives

• Either the server is powered off or the power supply 

units are not properly inserted

• One power supply unit is working properly and the 

other is either bad or not properly inserted

• One power supply unit is working properly and the 

other is either bad or not properly inserted

• One power supply unit is bad and the other is not 

properly inserted

Disk drives

• green

• none

• Server is accessing the disk drive

• Server is not accessing the disk drive
