Problem
When you attempt to use the in−line player feature via IE11, you receive this error message:
Solution
If MediaSense presents a self−signed certificate to the browser, ensure that it is trusted by the browser.
Tip: When you navigate to the Search and Play application via the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of
a MediaSense server, the IE11 address bar becomes red if the certificate is not trusted.
The self−signed certificate must be treated as a trusted root certificate authority before the browser trusts the
signature. Complete these steps in order to place the self−signed certificate into the Trusted Root Certification
Authorities store and resolve the aforementioned issue:
Click the certificate error warning message and select View Certificates.
1.
Ensure that the hostname and domain match the MediaSense server and click Install Certificate.
2.
From the Certificate Import Wizard, select Place all certificates in the following store and click
Browse.
3.
Choose Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
4.
Click Next, and then click Finish.
5.
Click Yes when the pop−up window appears in order to confirm that the certificate imported properly.
Note: The next three steps are not required for IE9.
6.
Navigate to the Tools menu, and select Internet Options.
7.
Click the Advanced tab and scroll to the bottom of the Settings list.
8.
Uncheck the Warn about certificate address mismatch check box. This setting prevents the execution
of the in−line player, even when the certificates are loaded.
