Support Commands
Enabling Remote Access to the Web Security appliance
The Remote Access option allows Cisco Customer Support to remotely access your Web Security
appliance for support purposes.

Choose Support And Help > Remote Access.

Complete the Customer Support Remote Access options:

Packet Capture
The appliance provides the ability to capture and display TCP/IP and other packets being transmitted or
received over the network to which the appliance is attached.

Starting a Packet Capture

Secure Tunnel

Specifies whether or not to use a secure tunnel for remote access
connections.

When enabled, the appliance creates an SSH tunnel over the specified port
to the server upgrades.ironport.com, over port 443 (by default). Once a
connection is made, Cisco Customer Support is able to use the SSH tunnel
to obtain access to the appliance.

Once the techsupport tunnel is enabled, it will remain connected to
