Configuring DHCP-based IP Address Assignment
You can configure the system to use the Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) to assign IP addresses for subscriber
sessions. Use one of the following two methods:

DHCP proxy mode: Upon boot-up, the system communicates with a DHCP server to reserve a configurable
number of IP addresses. The reserved addresses are stored in cache memory for assignment to subscriber

IP addresses assigned by the server are then assigned to the subscriber sessions by the system.
Regardless of the DHCP method, there are parameters you must configure that specify the DHCP servers to
