Introduction
This document describes the procedure to troubleshoot issues on Cisco Aggregation Services Router (ASR)
5000 Series and 5500 Series line cards. This procedure highlights some of the commands and the keywords,
obtained from the SSD (Show Support Detail) file generated on the ASR 5000 or ASR 5500 chassis. The
output of each command provides symptoms of a failed card and helps to pinpoint the problem. The objective
here is not to address specific issues on a particular line card, as there are numerous different hardware
problems. Moreover, individual situations might vary just enough which makes any generalized
troubleshooting guide problematic.
Procedure
Enter the show alarm outstanding command.
The output of this command displays the failed card. This information can be found in the SSD.

1.
Enter the show snmp trap history verbose command.
Dependent upon the issue, traps are generated on the hardware failure that occurred. This information
is part of the SSD.

Enter the show logs level error command.
Dependent upon the issue, logs are generated on the hardware failure that occurred.  This information
can be found in the SSD.
