Authorized Functions
Click the
Authorized Functions tab.
Each function corresponds to a menu item. To allow an administrator to use that menu
function, place a check in the box next to the description. To disallow a function, uncheck the
checkbox.

Access Control Lists
Access Control Lists apply to NORMAL or READONLY administrator types; by definition,
MASTER administrators cannot be restricted.
Note: Administrator types are defined in “Administrator Maintenance” on page 30.
Access controls allow you to define which management containers a specific administrator or a

Field
Description
Read
Administrator may view attributes of this container and all blocks assigned to
this container.
Write
Administrator may write to this container and all blocks (and IP Addresses)
assigned to this container. This includes deleting blocks and IP Addresses.
Delete
Administrator may delete this container.
Apply to Children
Determines whether the Read, Write, and Delete privileges also apply to the
children of this container.
In addition, you may add access control policies for individual blocks assigned to a container
for which there is an access control policy specifically defined for this Role. To do this, click
on the
Add Block button next to the container where the block resides. A popup window
appears with a list of the blocks that reside in the container. Click on the name of the block.
This takes you back to the policies page. From here you can specify the privileges for this
block that apply to this role.
