On the Substring tab, specify the following: 

Both Start and End positions start with zero(0), not one (1).

Complete the appropriate information in the following tabs, as necessary, and then click the Save

Input string

Enter the appropriate substring to be queried.

Start position

Enter the numeric string characters from where the query is 
to start.

End position

Enter the numeric string characters from where the query is 
to end.
