Setting Up the TSBroadcaster
4011043 Rev B
Configure the TSBroadcaster Client Machines
Introduction
This section provides the requirements and instructions for configuring the
TSBroadcaster client machines.
Client Machine Requirements
The TSBroadcaster client machines must meet the following specifications:
•
•
Launch an Internet browser that is running Java 1.4.2 to support the launching of
Java applets.
Note: The TSBroadcaster has been tested with Netscape, Microsoft Internet
Explorer, and Mozilla.
•
Provide sufficient disk space to install at least the Java 1.4.2 JRE. Contact Sun
Microsystems for the appropriate ranges.
•
Provide sufficient memory and processor power to run Java applets with
acceptable performance. Contact Sun Microsystems for the appropriate ranges.
Install Java 1.4.2
Each client machine must have an Internet browser that is running Java 1.4.2 to
support the launching of Java applets that form part of the TSBroadcaster UI. Obtain
a Java 1.4.2 SDK or JRE installer for the operating system of your client machine.
Installers for various operating systems are available on the Internet, at the following
location:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/
Install the Java SDK or JRE on each client machine (this will require Service Pack 2 or
higher on Windows 2000 computers). If you have no requirement for Java on the
machine except to run the TSBroadcaster client, select the JRE, as it is smaller and
quicker to install. Ensure that the Java you are installing is selected as the default JRE
or SDK for the browser that you intend to use to access TSBroadcaster.
